Cant close popup page with mendixs autocomplete widget

Is there any reason why we can’t close a popup page with that has an autocomplete widget? I tried closing the popup in a microflow with the “Close Page” activity. Instead of closing the page, it goes back to the previous page in the background and the popup remains. Would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.
