Post All your Widgets on GitHub

I worked on may widgets, made some improvement and bug fixes. Would it not be great if we could share those fixes and improvements? I have the feeling that I did a lot of work some other people where doing too. I fixed many widgets for Mx5, but others needed to way till Mendix Release the widgets. So my request to you, If you did make a widget. Please post it on GitHub and share the link here and in the description of the widget of the app store. My request for Mendix; please create repositories for all the widgets that had been developed!

Hi Andries / Dear forum readers,

As discussed in the gridview thread as well. This is not an official statement (i'm not member of the team responsible for the appstore content), but I really do like your efforts to improve widgets! So for widgets I did development on (which are quite some widgets) I'm happy to share the original team server project and review / merge back changes on those widgets, and release them if necessary.

So if you need an invite to propose a patch (I'm less eager to merge big features, as widgets become easily over complicated for many users due to their not-too-friendly-configuration), please send your email address + widget name to michel.weststrate@mendix.com. Especially if i'm listed as author in the documentation.

The effort and time you put in to study what somebody else deed and you change to update its features it a recognizable thing and sharing through github might have downsides. Somebody else will get your code in one way or the other and modify or not modify but soon own it.

Anyway its not your problem, Mendix should address this issue ASAP.

Hi Andries, very nice that you want to share your widgets. Isn't it better that you publish those in the mendix appstore? I thinks that's the best way to publish your widgets and add documentations.

May be we should file a feature request for a Beta appstore where the 'not yet ready for public release' apps can be stored.
